A high quality reception will be on that is remembered by everyone at your reception for years to come. The most important questions to ask your entertainment provider are the following: 1. Are we guaranteed the DJ of our choice on the day of our event? Yes, we personally DJ all of our events. Not having the choice of your DJ, can leave you meeting your DJ for the first time on the day of your wedding. At that point, your entire reception is left in the hands of a complete stranger. 2. How many years of experience do you have? 12 years and counting. However, many years of experience isn’t necessarily as important as how extensive their experience is. The right experience allows a DJ to know what to do when; not knowing how to deal with common problems when they arise can be catastrophic on your special day. 3. May we call references? Yes, we have several. References are important, because they tell you whether or not a company’s service is very reputable. 4. Do you belong to any professional associations or trade groups? Yes, the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA). Being a part of a professional association or trade group does not mean that a company is completely up to par. However, being associated with one lets you, the customer know that a particular DJ company is involved in their business and is willing to learn, network, grow and share ideas. Being involved as such lets you know that the company has a caring attitude. 5. Will you allow requests? Most definitely. We take your requests ahead of time, as well as at the event. Not allowing requests is a sign of unwillingness to cooperate with you and provide you with what you want. Requests should always be welcome. Inappropriate selections will be discussed with the requester by your DJ and explained why they should not be played. Also, alternative selections will be discussed as well. 6. How early will you be there to set up? We typically arrive 1.5 to 3 hours in advance to setup and properly do a technical check of all the equipment before your 1st guest arrives. Not arriving early enough to set up can be bad in several ways. It shows a lack of professionalism, it is a huge distraction to your guests and to the atmosphere of your reception, and it can be unnerving to you! 7. How will you be dressed? We are always dressed appropriate to the event. If its a formal wedding or other such event we will attend in a formal suit and evening gown. Otherwise, we dress down as needed, but never in an unbecoming manner. Arriving in jeans and a T-shirt can look bad on you, on the hall, and it can just plain stick out like a sore thumb. It shows again, a lack of professionalism and a lack of a caring attitude. If someone doesn’t care about the way they look at your wedding, why are they going to care about how your wedding turns out? 8. Are you insured? Yes, we carry the appropriate insurances needed to protect you, your guests and our investment as well. Not being insured can mean you’re dealing with a non-professional. You can run the risk of them not showing up at all, or leaving you stuck with the bill if anything should happen to cause accidental damage or injury to the hall or your guests. 9. Do you use professional gear? Yes. Our gear is all professional disc jockey equipment used by professional DJs, musicians, churches and clubs around the world. In addition, we maintain our equipment and replace equipment with completely new pieces as they come of age. Professional sound and lighting equipment helps insure reliable service, a reliable performance, and quality presentation. Old, not well-maintained equipment can breakdown and / or be faulty during your most precious moments. 10. Will you provide an emergency back-up system at our event? Yes. Our main rack is in itself a built in backup system. If any one piece goes down we can easily change our configuration and continue the show. And if that wasn't already enough, we bring an additional one or two replacement pieces for all the major components in our system. What would you do if your entertainment provider’s equipment broke down and that’s all they brought with them? Your wedding reception would be shut down before it even got started. 11. Do you provide a written contract? Yes, our contract is written to clearly spell out and protect our mutual interests. Without a written contract you left with a gentleman’s agreement which can just as easily be blown away with the wind. A contract on paper provides you with the security and peace of mind to know just exactly what to expect of your DJ and just exactly what you want them to know as well.
